Ramblings

updateWell, another week has gone and I’m still nowhere near getting my own place to live.  I went to see one on Tuesday morning with my buddy, Joan, but until now, no final verdict yet on if I’ll ever get that place.

After that unit viewing trip I was in for a huge surprise upon getting home and opening up my email.  A friend of mine, whom I have not been in touch with since 2006, has gotten in touch.  Very pleasant.  It seems like the past month or so I’ve had numerous friends from my past reaching out to me again.  Good occasions to spend over a good cup of java, don’t you think?

It’s also been a pretty busy week for me.  With Joan sick and can’t be at work, I have to assume command and responsibility for her team as well as my own.  Meaning I have to play catch up on her team’s information, stats and scores.  I don’t want to be caught dead not knowing what’s going on.  Nope.  Can’t have that.

Joan, I know you’re in the hospital right now and, hopefully, recovering pretty well from our operation this morning.  Get well soon.  Your team’s in good hands, though.  I can assure you that.

For something new, it seems that politics in Mindanao is heating up again that the election year is coming up fast.  The highway between Davao and General Santos City is again “under construction” bringing travel time from a healthy 2.5 hours to almost 4 hours.  Tsk tsk…  When will the politicians here ever learn that inconveniencing the general public will never endear them.

I’ve been having trouble sleeping the past week, too.  There’s a construction going on outside our unit, on the adjacent lot.  Very noisy.  Most especially that darned jackhammer banging away.  Good thing they’re about done with that part and are now putting in the pre-fabricated walls.  Should be completed in no time, soon.

Lastly, the net was down for a few days.  Just when I needed to write about someone at work so badly, too.  Darn it.  It started around Wednesday morning after I got home from work.  My DSL connection was experiencing more than 40% packet loss.  Switching to Globe’s Visibility wireless broadband wasn’t much of an improvement, either.  15% packet loss experienced there.  Too slow.  Normalcy came back around 13.00 hours yesterday.  Good.

Before you start thinking, “but…”, I’ll have to stop you there.  I do not blog at work.  I take a peek in case there are new comments, but I do not blog.

I hope I get to find a good place to stay.  Soon.
