Yes… it has finally gone beyond TV programming. Knight Rider will soon be among us for real and he/she won’t be driving a Mustang and the car’s name won’t be Knight Industries Two/Three Thousand, either. It’s name is Shelley and it will be an Audi. It’s becoming real, folks. DARPA had set up a challenge for autonomous vehicles and one of the entrants is Audi.
From the looks of the picture above, they’ve managed to shrink down the size of the sensors to be almost small and sleek (as compared to this project). I believe further development of this technology will ensure that the cars will look normal.
Gee… I wonder how much it will be to buy one? Wouldn’t it be interesting to own a car that drives itself? No need to hire a chauffeur to drive you around town, right? Do it yourself will be the keyword. Oh, and before I forget… this project might even drive this other project redundant. What do you think?
